Radiology

Our practice is fully equipped with digital radiography (xray) allowing our vets to perform in-house diagnostics and further evaluate your pet’s condition if required. Radiography is an important tool in many cases that can provide information in a number of disease states and musculoskeletal conditions/injuries. Radiographs can also be sent on to specialists for a second opinion free of charge or alternatively in some cases a referral will be required for ongoing management of your pet’s case.

For more advanced imaging services, including contrast imaging, CT, MRI and endoscopy, a referral will be required to a specialist hospital.

Ultrasonography

Ultrasonography allows for non-invasive imaging of organs and soft tissue structures. Specialist internal medicine specialist, Dr Judd Sumner, as well as other specialist ultrasonographers visit our clinic as required through their mobile services. We are also fortunate to offer the services of Dr Geoff Nicholson, specialist cardiologist, for echocardiograms (heart ultrasounds) and cardiology appointments. In some cases, referral to a specialist centre will be required for further diagnostics and/or treatment.

Ultrasound is a painless procedure whereby the soft tissue structures such as the heart, liver, bladder, kidneys and gastrointestinal system can be examined for abnormalities. This can give us important information to assist with diagnosis and treatment of your pet’s condition.
