During this period, we will be operating with reduced staff members. If your dog is experiencing a medical emergency, we please ask that you head straight to your closest animal emergency hospital.

We are unable to provide any medical treatment requiring hospitalisation, X-ray, ultrasound, sedation, or general anaesthetic on these days. For our closest emergency centres and open 24/7 for all emergencies, please call Pet Emergency Stafford on (07) 3359 5333, or BVECCS on (07) 3264 9400.

Examples of medical emergencies include, but are not limited to:

  • Toxicity (eg. Tick paralysis, chocolate ingestion, rat bait poison, snake bite)
  • Pancreatitis (relates to ingestion of highly fatty food eg. Christmas ham)
  • Wounds requiring surgical repair (eg. Dog / Cat bite wounds, laceration to the skin)
  • Foreign body ingestion (eg. Non digestible items likely to cause an intestinal blockage or injury)
  • Suspected broken bones
  • Major trauma (eg. Hit by car)
  • Allergic reactions

If you do require a non-emergency appointment with us, please call first before heading to the clinic so one of our nurses can triage the severity of your pet’s injury or illness.
