Although having grown up in vet clinics with many members of my family in the industry, I began my professional career as a teacher. After doing this for a while, I realised that while teaching was great, animals and medicine were my passion. So, I decided to put the three together and studied to become a vet nurse!
My special interests as a vet nurse include anaesthesia, nutrition, dentistry and client education/communication. My skills as a teacher help me to assist clients to understand the best ways they can care for their own pet/s. I also enjoy helping train student and more junior nurses. Relationships with clients and getting to help provide the very best care to see them grow into healthy and happy pets is what motivates me to come to work each day.
At home I have two crazy cats, Vanessa and Graham (who think they are actually human children) and a horse called Goldie who is overly spoilt. In my spare time you’ll often find me hanging out with Goldie, going for brunch, reading or spending time with friends.
